Cost £85 per person (includes certificate fee payable to British Canoeing)
Maximum : 6 participants (the course will run on minimum of 4 candidates)
Minimum age - Open to all ages (SCC recommends 14 and above)
Prerequisites - Participants need to either hold the Paddle Explore Award or equivalent ability, due to the paddling environment and the craft control required to complete the course.
The Paddlesport Safety and Rescue Course aims to provide paddlers with the key safety and rescue skills required to operate safely and to be able to deal with common problems in a sheltered water environment. The course is designed for all paddlers irrespective of their chosen craft. It is also the prerequisite for the BC Paddlesport Instructor Award.
PI Rescues Multi Craft Workshop
1 day starter course for SUP
Paddlesport Instructor Course.
Times: 11am - 4pm
Cost: £65 (£60 for members)
Min 3 and Max 6 paddlers
The group will meet at 11am ready to get on the water at Yalding. After carrying out a quick vehicle shuttle the group will take to the water. We will carry out appropriate moving water training for the river conditions and group ability. The group will then journey and enjoy the picturesque Medway River to Teston Country Park approximately 3 miles away. We will finish by running the Canoe Shoots maybe more than once! There is even the opportunity to try a variety of seal launches before we finish. The Trip is suitable for both sit on top and closed cockpit kayaks.
Vehicle Shuttles: As a group we will carry out vehicle shuttles to park at Teston Country Park. There is a charge for parking at Teston.
There is a portage of about 100-150m from the river to the cars at the end of the trip.
Helmets must be worn on moving water sections.
Own wet suits are required (we do not supply these). Please bring your own packed lunch and water.
SUP course for beginners, 2-day course
Kayak club for all levels, for juniors aged 8-14
A 2-day course held over 2 Sundays. This course is suitable for beginner paddlers or those with very little experience and not much formal instruction.
This course is for those wanting to achieve their Discover Award
2 days, 10am-5pm each day.
Certificate fee is additional £6, paid at the centre, should you pass the assessment.
Kayak weekend for experienced paddlers
Kayak club for all levels, for juniors aged 8-14
A 5 day course during the Summer holidays for juniors to learn how to stand up paddleboard on Hythe canal
Monday to Friday 10am-12.30pm
Wetsuits optional (not provided)
A fun paddle in open canoes up the Royal Military Canal and camp under the stars

The course is designed for anyone new to paddling, or relatively inexperienced to paddling.

2 day Paddlesport Instructor Course

The session will focus on fun, confidence training and both self and partner rescues.
Dress: Shorts and Rash vests/T Shirts.

2 day SUP DISCOVER COURSE
2-day kayak course for intermediates aged 8-13
2 day discover open canoe course for beginners or paddlers with little or no formal training
3 day SUP Discover Course for ladies only
FSRT Award for coaches and paddlers. £80 + additional £10 certification fee if you achieve the award. Minimum 4 candidates required for the course to take place. Candidates are required to apply and pay for their own certificate with British Canoeing. Age 13+
Seapoint Alpine Venture 2022 (SAV22 for short) is SCCs Introduction to Alpine White Water Paddling Expedition. Dates: 8 – 16 Jul 22 Location: Allgaü region of Bavaria, moderate water alpine paddling opportunity geared towards beginner-intermediate white water paddlers in kayaks, sit on tops or open canoes
