We provide training for coaches & paddlers

If you are looking for a fun way to learn to paddle then you need a Start, Discover, or Explore course. If you are a beginner try for your Start Award.

After the Start Award take it further by gaining your Discover Award. Then, if you want to start to get serious about your paddling gain your Explore Award.

We recommend working towards Start and Discover and then aim for Explore Paddlesport awards on the canal, river and sea. This will give you a great foundation in the sport. If you are completing a Duke of Edinburgh Award, we would love to hear from you as paddlesport would be a great skill to learn and enjoy whilst gaining your award.

Here’s how to get started,

Start : 4 x 2 hour sessions, to be completed in 1 month. Paddlers need to register interest for all awards with us and complete online paperwork with Paddle UK.

Discover: 12-15 x 2 hour sessions (depending on ability).

Explore : Discipline specific, can be on the sea, river or canal. Choose from kayak, touring kayak, sea kayak, SUP, open canoe, sit-on canoe or bring your own craft. Usually this is only provided in a group. Please contact us to discuss further with the Centre Manager if you are working towards this award.

Then we can progress to a variety of awards, these are what Seapoint offer on canal, river and sea:

  • Personal Performance Award
