A Kayak Camping trip on the River Medway from Tonbridge to East Farleigh over a weekend.
Saturday
Meeting point: Tonbridge, 10.30am
Meeting at Tonbridge Saturday morning the group will paddle the 8 miles to Yalding; encountering canoe shoots, locks and stunning scenery along the way. Led by our experienced River Coach you will run the canoe shoots, play in the flows & learn how to safely negotiate all the obstacles whilst having maximum fun along the way.
Saturday night will be spent at British Canoeing’s Marlin wild campsite on the banks of the River Medway with EA toilet and shower facilities 2 mins walk away. You can either carry your camping kit in your kayak or preposition your tents at the campsite Saturday morning ready for when we arrive. With; a fire pit, picnic benches and covered seating area the evening is sure to be social! A pub/restaurant, static food van and cafe are all within 3 minutes walk of your tent for evening and breakfast options, or you can even bring a BBQ. Alternatively you can leave your boats and equipment at the campsite overnight and sleep at home!
Sunday
After breakfast Sunday morning the group will pack up camp and have a chance to play the moving flows and waves at Yalding. The venue provides a great opportunity to practise moving water skills before paddling the 6 miles to the finish at East Farleigh, negotiating the canoe pass/small rapids at Teston along the way. Estimated finish time: 4pm

Kit: Own wet suits if required (we do not supply these). Please bring your own tent, sleeping bag, packed lunch and water, plus money for dinner and breakfast. Joining Instructions will be sent out on booking with further detailed information and suggested kit list.
